A.J.,
I, too, prefer the novel. I think that the audience misses so many details when only the film is viewed. Thank you for your thoughts. What novel do you prefer: Wuthering Heights or The Heights?

I am enjoying this book a lot. I love how the romance is twisted. It is like a rope in my stomache and im trying to loosen it but i cant it is that pulling. I think i like the older version better because it is much more romantic now a days. I cant quite comprehend the older version as much as i can The Heights But i certainly think that it is worth reading. My favorite part so far about this whole expierence is the movie i just loved it.

Michael,
I am a fan of Heathcliff; therefore, I believe that the revenge he takes has merit - or is justified. I relate to his character in how he stuggles with his issues. It is sad that he grew up that way - can you blame him?

He was fighting for the girl he loved and you can't hate a guy that does that. But i don't think the novel i better then the movie. I think i could relate to the movie better then the novel

I think that Catherine was really childish in the book and in the movie. I wuoldn't even like her if I live back then. I don't see what heithcliff saw in her. If you ask me I think Catherine was kind of dumb too. Man the H man made a bad decision.

Aj, I do also agree. I just dont think that in modern days that people would be so lovey with relationships. But i could very well be wrong. I am hoping to read more of the heights to get a better tie on the whole thing but right now i am sticking with the classic.
Jarod, I also in not agree with you. In this process of trying to get Cathy back he did hurt quite a few people. I would then deciede Heathcliff is a little too crazy for a women.

Steven,
I like your suggestion of keep reading. I agree; it does get better! Be careful on your spelling. You missed a bit on the title. Use your resources to help you out. You can use Google, the novel (book), YouTube...
Chancey,
Why do you agree with Haley on her comment? What did you like about it?
A.J.,
Please use capital letters for your name - prop. noun!
I like the novel better because I believe the rich details are more supported regarding full character development. Bronte's voice is truly captured in the classical literature piece, for me. Whereas, the film leaves out that true emotional interpretation that the novel allows for. Which do you prefer?
Thanks for posing a question for our friends in book club!
Jarod,
Well done justifying your rationale. Stated differently, you did a nice job explaining why you liked the film better.
***EVERYONE: Be sure to use a capital letter when writing the word "I."
Good job keeping a discussion going. Nice work!

Jarod, I also agree that Cathy should have married Heathcliff. They were in love the first time they saw each other. But Edgar came in and ruined the relationship between the two. if Heathcliff and Cathy had never gone to Threshcross Grange to spy on their neighbors they would have still been together. They would have been together because Cathy would have never had meant Edgar Linton in the first place.

I agree Jarod if Cathy wouldn't have been so ignorant there might have been less of a conflict. If she had such a hard time deciding whether or not to marry Heathcliff she should have waited because later on Heathclif has just as much money as Edgar. I guess some people don't know a good thing when they have it. She was being very childish and selfish.

i think that the heights is better for young reader like from the ages 9-11. The heights seems to monder to get the full scope of the deep love Cathy feels towards Heathcliff. The novel allows the reader to fully grasp the tragic love that Cathy feels. Cahty loves to be the greatest lady in the area, but she also loves Heathcliff I quote, " What ever souls are made of mine and Haethcliff's are made of the same stuff. I am Heathcliff."

You're right, the climax is the turning point of the story - the highest (most intense) part. Here is a website that may help your understanding:
Baily and Dayton I agree too. In the movie there is more detail to it. also I don't like reading either. Plus the reading can tale up to many days just to finish reading it. Yet the book also makes you keep wondering what's going to happen. So what do everybody else think about this?

But why does the editer give lots of non-useable informantion. The useable information sometimes isn't as great. Also the book give more action than the movie but if I was to read the whole book I would go crazy.

J.D, I agree that Cathy is a little bit childish. When a child has something they usually want more and more. Catherine acts kind of in that way. She had Heathcliff who loved her very much. But then Cathy went after Edgar Linton who did not love Cathy at all like Heathcliff did. Cathy knew this too. She just wanted to be rich and popular around the neighborhood. Which I think is ridiculous. Why would you choose money over true love.

Heathcliff was a jerk because he lost a girl that's just stupid a girl is never important enought to snap your psycey and destroy your personally.

He shouldn't because he loves Catherine.
